The SCA New Music Festival concludes with an open afternoon of fascinating talks, workshops and informal performances:

2.00pm James D’Angelo – Creating Harmony
The Healing Power of the Human Voice A workshop on therapeutic use of the voice: “The vibrations of the human voice applied consciously as a therapeutic instrument have the resonating power to stimulate, release and balance the fine healing energies that create harmony and wholeness of body, mind and spirit.”

Indian Classical Music on The Piano
A Practical Introduction
John Pitts talks from the piano about the fascinating world of Indian raags. He explains with live examples what a raag is, its constituent parts, and the journey that lead to his two books "How to Play Indian Sitar Raags on a Piano" and "Indian Raags for Piano Made Easy". The talk will be followed by a short session in which audience members can have a go at playing a raag themselves on one of the three available pianos. www.pianoraag.com
